We meet at the famous San Lorenzo market at 9 am (for around an hour and a half). After visiting various stores we commence the cooking lesson at Francesca’s kitchen ending with a delicious lunch.
The course consists in preparing a full traditional Italian menu from starters to dessert: starters, first course (dry pasta, homemade pasta, gnocchi, soups, minestrone or vegetable soups), main course (meat, fish or vegetarian), side course (vegetables or salad), and dessert.
The dishes have been chosen from the wealth of Italian traditional regional cuisine, from Tuscany as well as Northern and Southern Italy, prepared according to the original recipes but adapted when necessary (especially fat and sugar content) to modern tastes.
Dishes are chosen according to what is in season so we have fresh ingredients and for the most part, grown
locally. Mineral water, wine, caffè and "ammazzacaffè"(liqueur) are included.
The preparation of a meal will take about 3 hours then we all sit down to enjoy our meal: lunch or dinner at an nicely laid table.
Each participant will receive the English translation of the recipes prepared during the lesson.
Courses are open all year round, upon request, except for: January 1st, April 8th and 9th and August 12th to 26th.
This course will not be held on Sundays and holidays when the markets are closed.
Maximum participants: 8 people
